The old and now very spartan waiting room at Prestbury station. A nice little ‘study’ in grungy ‘distressed’ building fabric – a rare sight and opportunity in these parts now. Many years ago (in the days of good old BR) these waiting rooms had some form of heating which up until the late 1950s was in the form of an open fire tended by a member of the station staff— no staff or heating these days of course.
A fast Virgin pendolino from London Euston to Manchester speeding through.
